    Atwood refrigerator not cooling

I recently purchased a 2015 Reflections Fifth Wheel. On our first camping trip we discovered our Atwood frig does not cool well. There are no lights on and it seems to work on gas or ac but we put frozen products in the freezer and it would not keep them frozen and everything in the frig part was cool at best. This is just the issue I am dealing with now, but the other ones have been corrected by the dealer. Is there anything I can do. We have only owned this camper for one month . On my previous camper the frig acted up and it was the unit that attaches to the cooling fins which you slid up or down to control temp. Will this one work the same way or do I need a dealer to check it. My nearest dealer is about 70 miles

Did you adjust the temperature on the front panel? Hold the temp button until all five lights come on for the coldest cooling. (at least that's the way it works on my 2014 model)

WE did Adjust it until all lights were on. Turned it on And adjusted the temp on high a day before we left. We had a previous rv with a dometic. Owned it for 10 years with no frig problems. Maybe the Atwood don't cool as good as a Dometic . Thanks so much for your reply. As you can probably guess I am new to the forum as we just purchased the Grand Design

That certainly sounds like a malfunction. Ours runs at about 38 degrees in the fridge when it's set on "4". Hope you can get it resolved quickly.

We finally got out for our first trip of the season to test our new fridge (installed last fall.). Ran the fridge on electric and gas for 2 days prior to our 3 day weekend trip and the fridge was at 38 degrees (like Tucson Jim's) and the freezer was at 3 degrees. Certainly as we were in and out of the unit when camping, both temps raised with opening doors/placing some warm beverages/water to chill down but even then the fridge rarely went above the low forties range and the freezer in the higher single digits. Checking in the AM after the night the temps were pretty much back to the 38/3 +/- range. We used setting 3 and testing on setting 2 and 4 did not seem to make much difference.

We had the same experience, refer at 40, food was cool not cold and the ice cream in the freezer was soft. Tried electric and propane with propane working the best.

Is there a problem or is the issue with how it vents. Will an additional fan help move the hot air past the coils/fins? This doesn't seem to be the best solution given it will create excessive power draw while dry camping.

There are many trailers with refrigerators in a slide, this must work better than the current performance.

My 337 2015 did not cool well this last week also. I put left over sauce in freezer and it did not even freeze it. The refrigerator just kept things cool at best. Ou

I like the looks of the Atwood--with its LED's, etc. And it has a good fit and finish. But they seem to have an abnormal number of problems with them. My Atwood fridge only goes up to 4 lights--not 5. My controls don't seem to work, but it seems to cool and freeze okay, however.

I had a small accident when my trailer was 1 week old, and my insurance company paid for a new refrigerator. I talked with our local RV refrigeration repair company, and they said the jury's out on the Atwood and helium. He said to go back with the comparable 9 cu. ft. Dometic--$1,378 delivered.
