Water heater efficiency

I thought this discussion was about the water heater not the rv space heater.

Regarding the rv propane heat, anytime it sits idle you will need to run it to burn off the dust etc.

I use electric when at a park but the gas definitely heats the water faster (15 min). I will use both if we are taking showers back to back but always turn the gas off once finished. Using this method we have never had a cold shower.

We operate the same way as you stated. Never an issue, just from experimentation, we have found the "gas" mode to heat quicker. I don't remember but I think the owners manual addresses this topic.

After our first outing we found out two things. First, electric was enough to keep up with us in the shower. We didn't shower right after each other. Second, if heating with gas it gets WAY hotter than electric. Like burn yourself badly if you just have the hot water on.
