So here are my scale results. This was with everything in the truck except whatever 5th wheel hookup I decide to buy. Full tank of fuel too...

I have a 2005 version of your truck and pull a 303rls without issues. I have an Anderson goose neck hitch.

Agree with Rob. Looking on the GD website, the 295RL dry hitch weight is 1434 lbs, with 23% of GVWR > 2500 lbs. For the 303, dry hitch weight is 1835 lbs which already exceeds your available payload capacity of ~1750 lbs. That 1750 lbs does not include the FW hitch, either - unless you added something to the bed to account for it when you went to the scales. Could save some weight with an Andersen or a Goosebox, but regardless of hitch, once you're loaded for camping, you will be over your payload by a fair amount with the 295 and definitely with the 303.

I'm pulling a 337 with a f250 plus 60 gallons of auxiliary fuel, tool box, and two 8 gallons containers of well water. They will lock me up and throw away the key. I am usually air bags.

We've been towing a 295RL for nearly two years using a 2500 Silverado Duramax. No problems with the Utah National Parks or getting in/out of Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Texas.

Now, my wife and I have decided to look into getting a 5th wheel because we aren't getting any younger. It seems to me that pulling and setting up a 5er is much easier. Especially for someone that doesn't want to be crawling under the rig placing blocks everywhere, setting up the leveling bars and getting everything level.
Here's what I understand after reading tons of posts on here.
    9200 gvwr-5980 truck-390 people-180 fuel-300 5th wheel hitch-350 pounds of stuff=2000 pounds left. That means I can have a pin weight of 2000 or less to be legal...right?

If my calculations are correct or if I forgot something to minus, please let me know. I don't want to make a purchase mistake and end up having to buy another truck. I just can't afford that right now.
You might be in the ballpark with a 226RK. I believe they set up some of these 150 series to have a smaller percentage of the GVWR on the pin. Using GD's "dry" numbers, I get about 16.5 % 1190/7204*9995= 1650
Edit: Same calculation on the 295RL yields 1753 lbs. at GVWR. I'd verify this with GD before proceeding.
    Good luck!
