US 20 from Burns, OR to Eugene, Or

As part of a trip we are planing for June of 23, I am looking at taking US 20 from Burns, OR to Eugene, OR. It looks like US 20 traverses through some higher elevations. Will weather be a big concern that time of year and are there any major grades that we will encounter. We will be towing a GD Reflection 337RLS with a Ram 3500 diesel. I’ve driven in mountains before, so mountains aren’t a big concern, but I’d like to be somewhat prepared.

Santana Pass has a number of miles of 5 - 6% grade decent. The westbound decent from Tombstone summit consists of 11 miles of 6% grade with with constant 25, 30, and 35 MPH curves and the road is rough two lane.

I would highly recommend purchasing a copy of The Mountain Directory:

    https://mountaindirectory.com/

I have a combined east-west version on my laptop and refer to it all the time.

The road through Tombstone is nasty with switchbacks and repaired pavement. Been through it several times and after the last time said no way again. FWIW it was one of my favorite motorcycle roads.
As an Oregon lifer I would take hwy 20 from Burns to the Santiam Jct and take 126 to Eugene.
Weather won't be a concern that late in June.

@Silverbeard, In 2017 we took Hwy 20 from I-5 (Albany, Or) to Des Moines, Ia. pulling a 5th wheel, no problem at all. Good mostly 2 lane and little traffic. This would have been in June also. The roughest road we encountered was the freeway through Boise where 20 doubled with I 84. Weather will not be an issue.
    Have fun.
