HF rubber doodlers and finish with X chocks. I parked on a sloping driveway few nights ago and put a chock on each side on the downhill side. No X chocks that night. Was worried about spin out so I like the individual chocks for that reason.

When are you checking that it's level? It needs to be checked after weight distribution components are tightened up and ready for towing. Does your hitch have any adjustability left in it to raise the ball? 1" is acceptable but 2-3" low on the ball is too much. If you're not able to adjust your hitch you may need to install air bags on the truck.

We also use HF chocks and were using X chocks too, but then talking with JD (one of GD service managers) he said that x chocks can bend or tweak your axles if tightened to much.
Last year while parked in FL we didn't use them and noticed no big difference in movementMarcy & Gary

We use the HF chocks. Yes, they are heavy, but I've never had a problem with them. I've never used the X-Chocks so I can't speak to those.
With the HF chocks, and the landing gear down, we have a little movement, but nothing that is out of the ordinary. Then only "whole coach movement" we get is when the washer is on spin cycle... Then it appears that whoopy is happening in the coach!

Highly recommend the x-chocks after setup, they take so much of the movement out of the RV, something the rubber wheel chocks are not capable of doing since they are designed to keep the RV from rolling, not the movement that is felt when walking in the RV. There is even quite a difference between having the stabilizers down alone and having the x-chocks in place...
I have read what appears to be some folks using the x-chocks to "chock" the tires. Per the Mfg, they are not to be put into place until the RV has been disconnected & leveled or damage may occur to the x-chocks or the RV. YMMV
As for the truck ball height
When the truck/RV is empty, which is how the install was done by the dealer at PDI..., the ball is over 1" low, when everything is loaded up, it's 2" low.
Yes I can raise the ball on the truck, plenty of adjustment there...
My next adventure is to get the truck/rv onto a CAT scale and confirm the numbers
Thanks, Rick

I didn't read through all this so. I am very happy with the ones I purchased at Northern Tool and Equipment. Hard rubber, just as wide as the tires and a metal handle. About the same cost as the Camco plastic ones.

I have the plastic Camco chocks but if parking somewhere not level, I will use the X chocks even if it's just for an overnight. One thing I found helps with the plastic chocks is to tap them into place with a plastic deadblow hammer to get good contact on the rubber.
