2022 303 RLS Lug But Torque

Sorry to ask a question like this, but what is the torque for the lug nuts? My manual says to torque all 8 lug nuts, but I only have 6, so I am not sure how accurate that value is.

    Thanks

Torque of the lugnuts depends on the size of the stud. Here's a good list: https://www.etrailer.com/question-75604.html

That's a great chart @Hoopy Frood, how would one know which stud one has? Is a caliper measurement enough, or is there more to it?

While I'm at it, @PhilMcG, it looks like you're pretty new here, welcome to the forum.

Just measure the bolt, threads will be about 0.010" below the size, i.e. 1/2" bolt will measure about 0.490. If you measure the shoulder it will be about 0.005" below size, 3/8" would measure about 0.370".

The wheel manufacturer lug torque and sequence may not match the GD manual recommended settings - discovered that reading the owner's manual and then reading the brochure. We also have a 20 ft/lb range for torque which I found odd - I always had a single torque setting - may have incrementally gotten there but there wasn't an end range. Also, torque sequence was not the same between the two documents. I torque according to the wheel manufacturer documentation.

Universal charts may help you in a pinch, wanting your wheel to be properly torqued starts with the manufacturers chart, a good torque wrench, and properly lubricated threads.

If the axles are still Dexter being installed (are they ?) here is the link below to the manual with torque specs starting in page 73. Also curious, did you get any manuals in your packet of owners ship manuals regarding Dexter information ?

    https://www.dexteraxle.com/user_area...ice_manual.pdf

You may want to take pictures of the stickers with the serial # information on your axles for future reference for all kinds of reasons for future maintenance and issues that may arise. Getting this information to Dexter will allow them to share information about your axles.

Don't forget if you lubricate the threads, with something like Anti-Seize, you should reduce the torque values by about 15%. I used to use anti-seize, but I've not come across a rusted/corroded bolt in many years, so I generally don't bother anymore.
