    Thomas Payne Recliners

    New to this, so be gentle. The pull cord on the left Thomas Payne recliner seems to have broken and it won’t release. Before I break it trying to fix it…how do you take the back off to gain access or is it not like regular recliners that the back just pulls off. Camper is 2021 295rl.

    When mine broke, I pulled the broken recliner up and away then flipped it over. You can then see down into the recliner where the cord connect to a hinge. It could be the hinge, like mine, where a screw came out. It was a PIA getting it back together but it worked. Use a good headlamp and hopefully a small hand.

    OK, thanks. I assume you mean pull the whole recliner “up and away” and not just the back. I’ll try it tomorrow.

    The back or recline portion is on sliders and can be released in place. It is a semi-blind operation. Two people, first to hold the back. Second will release the locking tabs. The first person then can pull up on the back and slide it off the base. There is an DC electrical connection I believe for the bumpity bump option.

    @Sebass -

    Welcome to the forum! Here are a few tips:

    1) If you use "Reply With Quote" (to the right of "Reply") as I have here, folks will know to whom you are responding and that person will get a notification.

    2) You can also tag folks using the "@" symbol and their user name (as I have done yours) - they'll also get a notification that way.

    3) You can create a signature block with your RV and tow vehicle information (see mine below). That way you won't have to repeat that information whenever you post or ask a question - and others won't have to ask. You can create a signature by going to:

    Forum Actions (on menu bar) -> Edit Profile -> Edit Signature (under My Settings on the left)
