We have noticed that if you leave the vents open while camping, you will hear more noise early in the morning from birds and campers leaving early.

Campers making noise would be an annoyance but birds….lol
You camping in their homes. Love the different bird calls. Part of the “ambiance” of camping. Better than breathing sterile filtered air and the sound of the fan.

Every vent is covered on ours to prevent hail damage. Easier to replace the vent cover than the vent.

While I don't disagree with vent covers being handy, replacing a vent is the work of a few minutes, simply not that big of a deal. The price difference between replacing
    either is probably a wash.

I'm a birder. I travel to see them.

But last month on a camping trip I had to get out of bed at 1:00 in the morning to run off a bird in a tree next to my trailer.

A whippoorwill or chuck-will's-widow screaming in the middle of the night will keep anyone awake.

My vent covers were installed by my dealer at the time of purchase 3 years ago. On our current camping trip, I noticed half of the self tapping screws coming into the sides of the vents were missing. 3 of the 4 that were still in place could be turned by fingertip (from the inside.
Not wanting to get on the roof, I removed the screens, removed the remaining screws, and pop-riveted through the 4 holes of each vent from the inside.
