When will the details of the 2023 model be released?

My wife and I are considering getting an Imagine XLS 17MKE and the salespeople have informed us that the configuration we are looking at will be a 2023 model but it appears that the details of the 223 models is not yet available. I would like to clearly understand the changes from the 2022 to the 2023 models. Does anyone know when GD usually releases there new models each year?

    2023 models are out already.

Nothing changed at this point. Generally no changes until late in the year (around September).

It seems strange to me that new models would be released that are identical to the previous year. Our dealer said that if we order something it would cost $1,000 more to order a 2023 because they don't have any more 2022 models in the configuration we want.

We found that to be the case back in 2017 when we bought ours. When a "year" is declared, it is rather an arbitrary date. Updates, if any, can be rolled out individually and at any time during the year. So one month different may have only a couple of changes, six months might have accumulated more. All depends on demand, production schedules, and when enough parts for a permanent change are on hand.

Cost of a 2023 has gone up from a 2022, but there are no changes.

Can't define what your dealer told you, unless you want a certain option that he doesn't have in stock.

Everything changed to a 2023 model year as of June 1st, across all models from GD.

    Unsure why this is strange
It is the same in the auto industry as well
Many models stay the exact same for multiple model years
The current imagine like mine is the same (construction, interior etc) since 2020. Some options have changed but that is it

I don't mind that things have not changed. What bothers me is that they are asking another $1,000 for it just for saying that it is a 2023.

You will make that up, plus more when you sell it/trade it in.

There is more than $1000 difference in model years in NADA books...

Interesting to consider that. It just doesn't make sense in many ways. I guess that is why buyers should look at the actual date a trailer is constructed and not just the year.

What is different between the RV and auto industry is the RV industry does a lot of in-model-year changes while the auto industry does fewer. And the RV changes can be newer standard options while the auto industry if they do an in-model-year change it is usually a cost reduction and not an advertised change. When a new car model is introduced, there are usually no changes for the first six months. After that, it becomes a feeding frenzy with the cost reduction engineers at the OEMs. For example with a RV, my 2021 Solitude has a July, 2020 production date. Later 2021 builds came with RV Airflow and Winegard 360 installed. Mine did not.
