    Newbie to RVing

    Hello to all

My wife and I are new to RVing and hope to learn from the experiences of other GD and especially Imagine XLS
    MKE 17 owners.
We may test the notion that there are no stupid questions theory. Please bear with me.
Again, glad to be here. Thanks in advance for any help or ideas sent my way

    Nick77

Always told my students….’there are no stupid questions, just stoopid peeple that ask questions’. Welcome and congrats.

We saw a 17 going the opposite direction as us in Alabama today.

    Hi Nick,

I believe your rig is a 30 amp rig, so when connected to 30 amp shore power you should be able to run everything.

As far as add on’s you might pop your breaker if using the AC and the electric H2O heater if the wife uses her hair dryer or a toaster or a coffee pot.

I only use the propane water heater and it uses very little gas. I can’t run the risk of popping the breaker if we go somewhere and the dog is left in the camper.

    @Nick77

We have a 22mle with 30A service. We have to manage what we use so not to exceed it. We have tripped the main breaker in the past when we were not paying attention.

Here’s a partial list I’ve compiled while observing my Surge Guard wireless monitor:

AC 13A at startup, 11-12A running
    Microwave 12A
Fridge (absorption) not 12v, 2A on electric
    Hair dryer, same as AC
    Portable heater 13A
    Small one-cup coffee maker 4A
    HWH on electric 13A
    and so on.....

I was just wondering if the RV is in storage and connected to 110 power, if that was sufficient to run the refrigerator the day before leaving on trip to get the fridge up to cooling temperature.

Plenty to run the fridge. I would consider also running the AC to help mitigate humidity.

Agree, in storage plenty for fridge to pre-cool
