    Bathroom/Bedroom Sliding Door

The bath and bedrooms use a sliding"barn door" style door style door which is suspended from the ceiling in a track.

The track appears to be screwed into a piece of wood, that appears to be screwed to the ceiling.

A screw into the ceiling seems to have pulled out. This causes the one side of the door to drag onto the floor.

Has anyone experienced this? Was it an easy repair it did you bring it to the dealer?

Our door was out of plumb and noted during the PDI but I chose to bring it home and did the repair myself. The "beam' that the track is attached to is mounted to the supports in the wall, not the ceiling, IIRC. It appears that during assembly that they missed a wall support with one of the track mounting beam fasteners. It's been some time but I believe I removed the whole assembly, relocated the bad fastener and confirmed the remaining ones were properly attached. Door alignment was then completed with the track adjustment screws.

Been working fine ever since. Glad I did the work.

Bob, the screw is coming out of the ceiling.

    The order of attachment is:
    Ceiling
    Raw Wood board.
    Track
    Door.

    Yours is different?

I would post a pic, yet there is no option to do that here on the mobile view.

Well it's been some time but again, I believe the board in my MLE is attached to the wall studs. I will pull the panel and confirm. I believe there were 3 fasteners but there may have been 4. I'll try and look tonight when I get home.

    Thanks, Bob.
Don't go to the trouble of disassembly.
There is a cover board trim piece that covers the track and the board mounted to the ceiling. That may be what you recall.

I stand corrected. It does indeed mount to the roof rather than the wall. While I had the trim piece off, I snugged up the screws.

Curious, how many screws are attaching your board?

Back to your original question, I think this is something you could reattach. Having it sit at the Dealer for an extended period would not be my choice.

    Good luck.

I agree with the lack if waiting... But my concern is, how will I know how to find the "rafter" to screw into. Clearly, that's the current problem, it seems the screw isn't in a support.

I had a similar issue. But as with @Capt Bob I can't remember the exact details. I do remember easily identifying and fixing the problem once the door was removed.

I just fixed mine about a month ago. I pulled the door out (after removing the trim) and tightened that screw and put in an additional one. I posted a thread on here about ithttps://www.mygrandrv.com/forum/show...hanks-youtube!

I have a 2022 22RBE with the same problem. Second trip out and the bathroom sliding door track pulled away from the ceiling. I can see where the screw pulled out.

I can take the door off and screw the track back in but I want to do this repair once. Does anyone know what is in the ceiling that these tracks are suppose to screw into? My guess is a wood rafter. Why would a screw pull out? Any recommendations on a more permanent fix?
