DC to DC chargers in conjunction with emergency breakaway switch

So I'm run into a bit of a concern and could use some advice on the best way to rectify an issue. Current setup is 1000ah of BB front ended by a Victron 12/12-18 to provide charge during those cloudy travel days. I'm powering the DC/DC converter via the 10ga wires in my 7way. I know I should probably run a dedicated circuit with larger wires from the truck battery, but I'm not fully convinced as charging is working great currently and wires/connectors are not getting warm due to the relatively low draw. My issue comes in when the emergency breakaway cable is pulled and the 7way is disconnected. Normally this would short the 12v+ to the hydraulic trailer brake booster activating the brakes, but with the DC/DC charger in the path, there's no 12v+ connection available at the 7way junction box and so there's no emergency braking. Is the easiest option just to run a 12v+ wire from my busbar to the input side of the breakaway switch? Thanks in advance.

Yes - power the break away switch directly to the RV battery. Then if the 7 pin connector comes out OR the break away switch is activated the RV's brakes are actuated directly from the RV's battery.

Now I need to go out and verify my wiring as I just installed a DC-DC Converter but run it directly from the truck's battery.

Here is a photo from my Carlisle brake controller installation manual that shows how they recommend it.
