Dual Water Tanks and only 1/2 capacity
We have a 2022 395ms Momentum.
When we fill our fresh water tanks we can only get about 75gal (measure with a inline water meter) before water comes out the overflow. We are supposed to be to hold 140Gal.
We have two " white 2" fresh water drains, and two overflow hoses.
We do level our trailer before filling.
On the control panel there shows only 1 Fresh Water Tank.
On the water control panel it has no mention of an additional tank.
We would like to use all of the 140 gal as it would us to stay out longer.
Can anybody provide any additional incite?

You've probably already thought about this, but did you drain both tanks completely before measure how much it took to fill them? If so, the next thing I would suspect is that the overflow/vent tubes were inserted too far down in the tanks.

My in-line water meter reads low. When it reads 35 gallons my 43 gallon tanks are full to the brim.

I have a similar setup, only 155 gallons. I have spent a LOT of time underneath mine with the coroplast removed.
The sensor is only connected to the main (large) tank. There is a small tube connecting the two tanks at the bottom. There is a much larger tube (about 1.25") connecting the tanks from the top, So they in use act as one big tank. But when filling the small connecting tube at the bottom cannot transfer the water fast enough, so the tank that fills first will start overflowing before the other is full. You could slow down the rate of filling quite a bit to fix this. But there is another problem. GD is pretty haphazard about installing tanks. They are likely at different heights in relation to each other. Water seeks its own level. Some here have reported being able to get more water in the tanks if their units are nose or tail high,
I solved this conumdrum by raising the vents to a higher point in the propane tank compartment. There are a few different ways to do this, but the important thing is the tanks really should be free to vent at all times, to prevent pressure from building up in them. Simply raising the vents technically will raise pressure in the tanks, but only by a miniscule amount,That would be the weight of the water in the new vent extensions.
My 398M from the factory held about 120 gallons, of which some leaked out under tow. With my mods, I can now get the full 155(measured with a meter) gallons it is supposed to hold in it, and virtually all of it makes it to campLast edited by huntindog; 06-25-2022 at 09:25 AM.
