    Campground Advice

Hi folks, planning on visiting my brother in Mancos, CO in August. On the way back plan on doing a loop to spend some time in Bryce. I have three stops along the way which I am looking for advice on.

Green River KOA, one night stop only
Ruby’s Inn RV Park, four nights
McArthur’s Temple View RV Park, one night stop only

Total trip mileage is just under 1600 miles pure destination to destination.

Also any insights on the roads?
The way to Mancos: I40 through Flagstaff then hit 89 to 160 to 491.

On the way home 491 to I70 and first destination, Green River KOA, 1 night.

Then I70 to the 89 to the 12 and our destination Ruby’s In for four nights.

Not even sure I can get reservations this later in the game but going to try.

Last leg home will be 12 to 89 to 15.

Last stop in St George, McArthur’s Temple View RV park for one night, then I15 home.

First time using RV Trip Wizard.

    Thanks,
    Bill

I can only tell you about Green River KOA. Green River is a very small town (with a decent little grocery store, however). The KOA is fine. It's all gravel but our pull-through was plenty long enough for the truck, fifth wheel and car. We used it as a jumping-off point for Arches, Canyonlands, and Goblin Valley State Park (a pretty cool place, too).

We stayed at Ruby's for three nights when we were there last Sept. It's a great place and very close to the entrance at Bryce. I would definitely stay there again. I can't help with info about the other RV campgrounds.

You might also look into Green River State Park. The pictures of it look great. I've had reservations there twice and had to cancel both times unfortunately.

Ruby's is great. They have a shuttle that stops in front that links up with the buses that take you through the park. Much easier than trying to find a parking place at the overlooks.

Kodachrome Basin State Park is around that area. My wife and I stayed there this spring and there are some beautiful sites.

I’ll second xrated on Ruby’s. The old part of of the park offers more shade , the new part has bigger sites. We did 5 or 6 parks in 3 weeks or so , and Bryce was hands down our favorite.
