Tapatalk prompt on my iPhone....How to get rid of it?

Whenever accessing this forum from my iPhone I get a prompt in Safari asking if I want to open in Tapatalk or Safari. I'm not a Tapatalk fan so I select
browser, but the prompt never goes away. Other forums that I frequent don't have this issue. Is there something about this board that emphasizes Tapatalk?

I would pay to have Tapatalk burned and buried. Can't stand it. Same issue as you however. Wish they could just give us a home page link to the site that ignores that Tapatalk garbage as I am sure there are some that like it. This way would could have the best of both.

I have not figured it out yet. It does it on Android too.

I don’t get Taptalk offerings when I stay signed in to the forum. Only when I need to re-logon does it happen.

I don't get why you get a prompt. I don't on my iPhone.

On what app are you going to first to open the website?

If I use Tapatalk I don't get a prompt; if I use Safari I don't get a prompt. When opening with Safari (from a bookmark) I do get the Tapatalk banner on top offering me an option to use Tatatalk, but I just ignore it. Is that the prompt you are talking about? If it is, and you don't want it, can't you delete the app on your phone?

Clearly our phones and apps aren't working the same.

It sounds like you have TapaTalk installed on your phone...is that correct?

I share the same feelings.....I'm relatively new to the forum with a low post count so I left Tapatalk feelings out of my original post.


I attached a thread from another forum discussing this same issue. There is a Tapatalk Plugin that typically runs on the server hosting this forum. I'm hoping for a reply from one of the site Admins to see if they are willing to check how the Tapatalk Plugin is configured for this site.

I also get this message on my IPhone. And even more annoying is that when you try to tap on continue with Safari, you are tapping on an ad & opening it. This only happens on my iPhone not my iPad.

I have no desire to use Taptalk.

We've had a lot of reports of issues with Tapatalk recently and have little ability to manage their app... that said, You might try uninstalling tapatalk and reloading it - it has resolved issues for many.
