    2022 f350 hard/jerky shift under load

    I’m pulling a 2021 310gk Solitude with a 2022 f350
I had a vibration at about 1900 rpm at higher speeds. I installed airlift 5000 and can’t duplicate the vibration.
Now my issue is when starting out in normal or toy haul the transmission shifts hard and very jerky through 3-4 gears then it’s fine. The Ford dealer has no answers. Any ideas.
    Thanks

Does it do it both towing and unloaded?

Ford has had some issues with sticky valves that clear up with time.

Not knowing how many miles you have on your new truck, I think I've read in the past that one should break the vehicle in prior to towing for X amount of miles. This includes the transmission. How many miles do you have on your truck?

You may be experiencing some "axle wrap." Mine does it sometimes under load with acceleration and down shift for a climb.

Have you checked to see if there is any update on the tranny ecm program? They may have updated it with a new one, mentioned in a service bulletin. You can ask on a Ford forum, some dealers either don't know, or care. Have gone into my dealer several times to have the computer updated per a service bulletin to resolve an issue, and the dealer didn't know about it.

The truck has 1500 miles. I have an appointment to reflash the transmission. Basically reboots it. I’ll let you know the outcome

Finally got the truck into dealer. The mechanic drove with me and said it was shifting way to hard. He checked for updates with no success. Ford said it was the trailer brakes. I disconnected the trailer plug and it actually worked better. I then went into the menu page and found where you have to add the trailer and what kind of brakes are used. Problem solved even though I feel kind of stupid!

That’s a sweet fix and why these forums are so important. You’re not silly. We usually run off with our new toys and never bother reading the destruction sheets. Good job and enjoy your towing.
