    Hole for dryer exhaust.

I have a 2021 315 TT. In the front wardrobe closet there are hookups on the driver side of trailer for the washer and also an X marks the spot for cutting a hole for dryer exhaust. I did not purchase a combo unit so I am placing the dryer on the passenger side of trailer. Would anyone know if the X marks the spot would be a mirror image onto opposite side of trailer. Have tried a stud finder and seem to be getting false readings. TIA.

If you go outside and look at the trailer early in the day the dew will outline the frame to give you an idea of a good area for the vent. As for any wiring that could be in that position it's anybodys guess so proceed with that in mind. But I believe most wiring in that area would be near the floor.

You can find the spot inside where you want to put the hole. Measure a bunch of times so you know exactly where the hole is going to be on the outside. Tape over the outside area where the hole will be (blue painters tape works well).

Use your 4" hole saw to score the luan on the inside. Don't drill into the foam insulation yet. Peel the luan away from the foam insulation. If there are support struts/studs/braces you should see them and can adjust accordingly as to where to put the hole.

Once you think you are OK, cut away the foam insulation down to the fiberglass exterior panel. Maybe use a razor knife, you still don't want to use the drill unless you are certain there is nothing in the insulation. Once you cut away the insulation you will know for sure if there is anything preventing you from completing the hole and drilling the fiberglass wall.

To drill the wall start with your 4" hole say on the inside. Just score the fiberglass and go deep enough to punch a center hold through to the outside. Now go outside and complete drilling the hole from the outside to the inside.

    Hope this helps.
