2022 Momentum 25G - Outdoor kitchen door leaks water into RV
Just caught this one today, I was wondering why the grey wood dresser over the outdoor kitchen was peeling away at the bottom… now we know….
When the trailer was built they used small self tapping screws to hold the door frame in place… of course they snapped off all the heads on the bottom screws. This resulted in any water that collects in the door seals to drain into the broken screw holes! This then pooled in the outdoor kitchen floor and then dribbled down into the dresser walls and onto the bedroom floor.
As a temp fix I filled the broken holes with silicone and then pulled each screw on the sides and top, siliconed the hole and the screw. Not amused but not our first rodeo… just wish one day they would not build RV’s using piece work and rush like crazy.
So id you have a 25G, check these screws to ensure they are not letting water in.
Next I’ll see if I can find the rain gutter extrusion like they put above the entry door. Would prefer to have that over my outdoor kitchen and storage doors.
Cheers

Thanks for this post @Thorvald, may save someone else from a similar experience. As you say, not your first rodeo, but disappointing all the same. Glad you were able to catch it and repair it before things got worse.

Hello Thorvald
Thanks a lot for putting this info up!
I have a 2022 25G which we have been in for two weeks now.
Opened our outside kitchen and found water inside on the floor. I was stymied couldn't think of a plumbing source, and the fridge I don't believe has a condensate drain. But thanks to your post I'm pretty sure its the seal. Of course, duh! Anyway we see what's the problem now, the seal. Good job Thorvald.

Well I found a possible "mitigation", not a fix. I have been looking for a rain drip rail like what is over the doors but could not (yet) find the size for this door.
However I discovered Trimlock.
https://www.trimlok.com/plastic-extr...il/rain-gutter
PVC rain rail (black or white) and 3M VHB. Can go around curves as well.

Pretty cheap on Amazon for a 10ft section so I'm going to give it a try over the Outdoor Kitchen Door and the Storage Door. Easily removeable later or if it turns out to not work.2022 Momentum 25G (aka "Baby Mo")

I did it on a warm day, so it’s quite flexible and no I didn’t have to heat it up at all besides what the sun was doing. The window trim is a nice large radius corner, so it went around it no problem.
If you did it in cold weather or at night, it might fight you a little bit, but do it in a nice full sun, and leave the rubber out to heat up and it was no problem at all.
I cleaned the rubber around the openings with alcohol first to make sure the adhesive would really stick on
Cheers
