    Mount Motion Lights Outside RV

I'd like to mount 2 motion lights on the outside of my RV. One on the very front door side of the rv and the other on the back. I've tried velco, but the glue comes undone in the hot sun and thy fall off. It's industrial strength too. Now I have 2 glue marks on the RV where the mounts were. Can I screw these onto the side, or is there a better way to mount them than putting holes in the wall?

Why not just mount them on a stand and put them out every time you set up camp
This is what I would do

I would never consider screwing into the side of my trailer

Or mount it to the skirting with sheet metal screws. Might be lower than you want but would illuminate the ground

I had great success screwing the mount for my rear camera to the fiberglass panel. I used short 3/4” #12 stainless steel self tapping screws. Drilled the Pilot hole and don’t over tighten. Working great.

I have 2 motion lights, one above each entry door, on my Momentum 31G. Both are attached with 3m double side tape that we use in the autobody shop. I used the 3m proprietary adhesion promoter on mine but it's not 100% necessary. Clean the surfaces well with alcohol and the lights aren't going anywhere.

Exactly what I did. One by the entry stairs, one forward-facing by the tongue, street-side, and one each on each side nearly at the rear of the trailer. Used Velcro for a year, then used SS screws into the skirt. Solar, too.

I will second this application methodology. I would also issue a caution. This tape is rightly called Very High Bond (VHB) tape. It is basically what your truck/car manufacturer used to affix badges and other parts. Its is not intended to be easily removed without possible damage or a very careful removal processes. All that said it really works when you need something to stick forever.

I've been thinking about doing this also. What type of lights did you folks use?

We used these little solar lights from Harbor Freight. They have dusk to dawn sensors and come on dimly at dusk. Motion sensors trigger them to be bright if there is motion. We like them a lot. They come with attachment tape on them but I wouldn't trust it. Use the tape I linked in my post above.
