Slide Noise at End of Travel

After leveling and putting down all 4 stabilizer jacks when we got the new tt home, I noticed a rattle/grinding sound when the slide got to its end of travel open. It had reached its full open point and had stopped so I let off the open button. Is that something that is normal? The slides (5) on the previous trailer (3791RD) never made that sound although they were hydraulic. I've not attempted to close the single slide yet but will in a few days when I go to reposition the trailer. Any pointers or comments appreciated.

I think you have a rack and pinion slide, not the Schwintek. If it's the rack and pinion, it will make a "grinding" noise at the end of travel, either in our out.

It’s the clutch. They all do that. More like a loud clunking.

That's the name of it! I couldn't, for the life of me, remember! Thanks!

I looked under the slide and it appears to be rack and pinion. Don't know what Schwintek is. Sounds like a bicycle. Had to look it up - motor and gears inside the slide. I have a pair of gear looking rails under our slide out.

Good to know it's not some early failure. Trailer just a few days at home!

I have a schwintek slide and deploy and retract my slide with trailer level but no stabilizers down
You likely use an impact gun like many I see camping as well. Perhaps tweaking the frame

The clunking is normal with rack/pinion slides. If they were schwinteks....it would be a problem.

Nope. Only light torque on stabilizers with low setting on portable drill. In fact the first time I set them on ground when I got it home from dealer July 20, I used a hand crack with just light pressure.
