I had a 30 amp trailer Jayco Jayflight. I lost count of how many times I tripped the main breaker and the one on the pole. It was anyone's guess which would trip first. If the AC or my space and anything else ran at the same time--like a coffee maker--pop went the 30 amp breaker.

Do not listen to anybody... You can not run 2 A/C's on a 30amp service... PERIOD. They might run for a few minutes, but will always trip the breaker after awhile! Besides with a a/c fridge it's DEFINITELY impossible! Been doing this business for over 40 years along with parents and grandparents and friends so I am 100% positive that you need 50 amp service or just run 1 A/C!!

My Atwood air conditioners draw 10A each and will run fine at the same time on 30A service with the refrigerator running on propane and the converter on. No problem starting either.

Wow Chuck, I must have just been lucky running my 2 AC’s for 4 days in West Virginia in 90 degree heat with my surge voltage detector plugged in to the pedestal reading 22 amps and it never shut my power down detecting any issues nor tripping any breakers. I was under the same impression as you until I seen it with my own eyes.

30 amp service: Can you run more than one A/C

My Furrion only draws 10 amps as well. Could easily run 2 on a 30 amp

Chuck - you must have a rotten deal. I have a 2019 Momentum G - 30 amp. Pretty much run both ACs for the last 3 years. Just did it last week. Fridge on electric. Never tripped a breaker.

I would say it's possible with a lot of monitoring for when it trips with other draw. I popped my circuit this week when my AC was on along with the water heater, fridge, and a couple lights.

It "is" possible with close monitoring as mentioned....however, have you all that have done it ever opened the pedestal and felt how hot the wires and breakers were inside of it while running a 30A service at 29.75 amps for several hours/days?

Just because you "can" doesn't mean you "should." $.02

I was lucky to consistently run 1 on 30 amps when I ran other household items. You need to understand that a 50 amp rig is dual phase power, 240 volt at 50 amp. Your 50 amp breaker box has a dual pull 50 amp breaker. Each leg runs in a straight line away from the center of the box, preventing you from wiring in 240 volt appliances like residential dryers. That’s why 50 amp rigs can run 2 or even 3 ACs.

A 30 amp rig is single phase. That’s 120 volt at 30 amp, which is less than 1/3 of the power a 50 amp rig brings in.
