Unhappy Solitude 379 FL slide will not extend, seems only one motor is working

Please help. We have a new Solitude 379FL we bought in November 2014 used only a few times so far and we just set up in our new site and when we tried to extend the slides for the front livingroom the slide on the door side would not extend on both sides. It sounds like only one motor is working (near the door) it goes out a couple inches then stops. We tried as instruction manual states to have one person push on the side that is not moving while trying to extend and that doesn't work. We also tried the override instructions, but after depressing button 6 times and holding for several seconds on 7th push the lights flash and then they go out after about 3 flashes. Is the module bad?

I had this happen to the street side front slide and the problem was diagnosed by the RV tech as a bad motor. Seems a wire came loose from the circuit of the motor, which is a common problem. Had the motor replaced under warranty. Was told it was quite a challenge to get to the motor to replace it, so suggest you take it in to get an official diagnosis and repair.

We are living in it and have 3 pets (2 dogs and a cat) so we can't take it in. Our dealer is now over 20 hours away since we just moved this weekend. It worked fine before we left and when we arrived it wouldn't work. Going to have to have someone come onsite to fix it here in Florida. Hoping that is possible.

    By the way...nice rig.

Call G.D. on Monday. They might authorize a local RV mobile tech to come out and fix it. Your lucky that being in FL., there are a lot of these RV mobile tech outfits around.

Good idea to talk to JD at G.D. on Monday. My selling dealer ..... which is the closest G.D. dealer ...... is 2 hours away and I got agreement from JD to take it in and have a local RV repair shop do the diagnosis/repair. No problems with the local guy dealing with G.D. warranty people to get it covered.

Thanks again. We tried manual override but the side closest to the TV won't budge and now the module just flashes one green and then 8 red flashes (over and over). Tried calling GD got JD's voicemail and I left him a message so we'll just have to suffer through it until Monday when we can hopefully hear back from JD. We have to crawl over the recliner to get into the livingroom. No fun at all with two big dogs we rely on the extra floor space we can't use for them right now. From everything I have read here and on the Grand Design Owners page on Facebook, GD has awesome customer service so I am looking forward to resolving this painlessly . Still loving the RV though.

JD at GD overnighted us new motors and mobile repairman fixed. As beauty&beast mentioned it was bad wires weak solder new motors have better connection clips. It took 3 of us to manually push the slide out enough to access the motor mounts from outside

You have to release the brakes remove both motor's put thin in trash. Take the out side trim off and keep it tied up on the in side with tie down. Secure it with the other slide out. Let the other slide out pull it in.
