Why NOT ,,,,, Home 50A Stove Plug 10-50R to 30-TT Dog Bone

New to RVing. I will be traveling to a parents house. Why can't I boon boondock to the stove plug in that home in the same manner as at a 50AMP service at an RV park with the appropriate dog bone? The home plug is a Standard 10-50R (R=receptacle) and the dog bones are commonly available (10-50R to 30-TT). The TT output from the dog bone can and only will be a single one phase leg at 120 volts (granted up to 50 AMPs) and thus I can plug in my 120/30A single phase just like mentioned above. RV will have a 30AMP breaker so I can't pull more than 30 amps and the on-board equipment should be protected (unless there is a short in the cable from the house that home breaker won't pop) ..... why is this wrong?

Since you have asked this twice I have to ask
    Why? And also How?
What are they going to use for a stove
Are you going to leave a door or window open for the cord?

It is only for 2 days. We are moving my mother-in-law from a home she is having to leave (and won't fly) and are traveling there to pack her up to bring her back cross-county. There really isn't space in the home to sleep (no extra beds etc) and I suppose we could sleep on the floor but ..... so this set-up is only for night when we want/need a place to sleep and are wanting AC for obvious reasons. The cord will be run through a cracked window. I asked in two places becuase it was advised I move the question to the form, from the blog.

Because you will burn up everything electrical in your RV if you plug into a 240V circuit and you risk electric shock if you plug into an ungrounded circuit.

Your trailer does not have or use a NEMA 10-50R! The end of the cord that plugs into a shore power receptacle is a NEMA 14-50P and the shore power receptacle is a NEMA 14-50R. The difference in the two is that the 10-50R is a 3 wire/3 pole receptacle with NO GROUND connection. The 14-50R is a 4 wire/4 pole receptacle and has two hot wires, one neutral, and one ground wire. Obviously the two do not interchange.
This explanation applies if you have a 50A camper service....NOT a 30A camper.

My RV has a 30TT plug (120/30A) .... I want to use the adaptor/dog bone that every uses to plug into from a 10-50R (120x2/50A) Campsite Plug to a 30TT/ (120V/30A) ... guess I am unclear in my question. House has a 10-50R for the stove. The adaptor is 10-50P (male) to TT30P (female) --- the RV would plug into the TT30 female.

Your trailer uses 3 wires: Hot, Neutral and Ground. A 10-50 uses 3 wires: Two hots and a neutral. No ground available, but even worse it isn’t unusual fore someone to use the ground as a neutral.

READ MY PREVIOUS POST.....A campground shore power receptacle for 50A....IS NOT a 10-50R.....IT IS....a 14-50R...the two are NOT THE SAME AND WILL NOT plug in. The 10-50R and 10-50P DO NOT HAVE A GROUND CONNECTION.....BAD IDEA ALL AROUND

And....the link that you posted from etrailer is the standard 14-50P to TT-30R.....which will not plug into the 10-50R at the house.
