    Schwintek cable harness

More Schwintek issues... And hoping someone knows the answer.

The parts diagram from Lippert shows that I need a 20' power cable. I have a 35' cable. The question is does the length of the power cable have any impact on the synchronization of the motors?

    Thanks.... Celt

Sounds like Lippert would be the people to ask. Hate to see you waste your time installing

Curious how Lippert would know what length harness is needed when they are not installing the system?

Probably comes with a standard 20 ft harness when a consumer buys the kit.

I'm sure there are folks on the forum that are really good at DC voltage theory, but I'll take a stab. As long as the wire is of sufficient size to carry the DC current required, there should be no drop in voltage, and would not have any impact on the synchronization of the motors. I can't imagine Lippert would sell a cable that doesn't meet the correct specs.

I assume that in all trailers with the Schwintek system each motor has a different length cable running to it, because they are different lengths from the controller.

The difference of 15' of wire is negligible in the grand scheme of things, when it comes to signals traveling down a wire.

If anyone wants the math behind this, just shout out and I will gladly bore most everyone with it!

You could also make that cable yourself and get the connector ends for the motor splice as well as the controller
