    Towing a 2019 ImagineXLS 19RLE

I am considering downsizing from a 2019 Ford 250 super duty to a Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew, 145” wheelbase with 3.5l eco boost. It has all of the max trailer package components (brake controller, 36 gal gas tank, upgraded front stabilizers, auxiliary coolers, 7 pin harness etc) but instead of 3.55/3.73 it has 3.31 axle. 19RLE Is 4600 lb dry weight, 5800 lb gvwr, 24’ long, 8’ wide. Always use blue ox WDH. Planning on several cross country trips in the next couple years and want to make sure we can handle mountain travel. Reason for downsizing is gas mileage when not hauling trailer, stiff ride and size. Thanks for all advice!

Just did over 12,000 miles with my F150 and a 17mke, including the Ike and Vail passes over the Rockies. Truck handled it just fine. I have the 5.0 and 3.55 rear end. What year is the F150 you are considering? It would be worth a check of its paper ratings. But the truck should handle that trailer and mountains no problem.

I will note that heavily loaded for months in the trailer, when I took it over a scale we were right at the trucks GVW. It’s actually better with our new trailer because I’ve gotten stuff out of the pickup bed and into the larger trailer.

So it has the 10spd and probably 10,700 towing capacity. GVWR should be at least 7k lbs too leaving 1500+ of payload. I wouldn’t sweat the rear end ratio with the 10spd anyway, and the 3.5tt makes plenty of torque down low.

We have a 2019 ImagineXLS 19RLE as well and tow with a 2006 Tundra Limited (V8) and it does fine. You will be just fine with your F150.
