We pull a 2016 Solitude 379FL with our 2006 F250 Super-Duty 6.0 Diesel 2WD Long Bed truck that has since gotten a dually conversion.
I originally started pulling our Solitude like a mad man pulling a 12 foot aluminum boat. I finally dawned on me that my rear tires were maxed out weight-wise and sudden dread of blowing a tire in the mountains and taking the fast way down hundreds of feet!
Finally, sanity prevailed, albeit a little later than I want to admit. I discovered that our truck will still go into overdrive when in tow-haul mode over 55 Mph. In overdrive, my truck will purr along with the 14K+ Solitude in-tow at 1800 RPM at EXACTLY 62 MPH!
I have been working on the road across several states for 22+ years. I was always in a hurry and I had to pass everybody. Finally, when I pulled my head from that dark place, I realized that:
A. It takes much less fuel to go 62 than 70+,
B. The time I would have saved amounted to maybe a few minutes,
C: My hands didn't hurt so bad after from white-knuckling the wheel.
D: There is no more angst about passing. Everybody passes me, including semis! I flash my lights when they are clear to merge back over.
Therefore, our magic number is 62 MPH. My F250 gets about 12 Mph when cruising at that speed...Frank and Char + Maya, Newport, Michigan. 2016 Solitude 379FL/2006 F250 6.0 diesel w/dually conversion. 4th rain-sense roof vent, two ceiling fans, Kodiak disc brakes, Carlisle G 14-ply tires, Water Miser x2, final dump valve, water header tank, fridge cond fan switch, outside range exhaust, elec hot water anode, filtered drinking water, triple battery box,

The big trucks are governed to 65 mph (105 km/h) in Ontario so I use that as my freeway speed. Generally on secondary highways it’s 90 km/h (56 mph).

We run about 63mph unless the speed limit is less, and less than the speed limit when conditions warrant more caution.
Also, Rob, just getting old isn’t so bad. To quote a former supervisor and mentor: old age and treachery will usually get the best of youth and enthusiasm.

We tow at 61/62 MPH with cruise control set and transmission ERS set to 5th Gear (stops constant searching) and average 12.0-12.5 mpg.
Lets "in a great hurry" traffic by and leaves me with less than white knuckles all the while being totally relaxed. 71 years old is much faster than my MPH.2018 RAM 3500 MC, CTD 6.7, 68RFE

I have the same unit. My tow vehicle is Ford 2500, 6.7 Power Stroke.
I tow from Coastal SC to the Catskills NY and return once a year.
I average about 10.8 mpg going up and about 11.7 on the return.
As others have stated my cruise control is set to 63mph.
The hotter the weather the better gas mileage. Diesels love heat!
Keep in mind I am crossing three MTN ranges. Blue Ridge, Poconos and Catskills. Without towing and driving as a daily driver it's averaging 16.8
