ID:	42501I have two inverter generators that I'd like to setup to run in parallel. One is a AiPower model that is clearly marked with red/black connectors for the parallel cable. The other is a SmarterTools model that has both connectors in black (no red). Unfortunately, the owner’s manual doesn’t provide any help.

Question: How do I know where to plug the red versus the black connectors on the SmarterTools generator?

Don’t take this as the definitive answer, I would not think it matters with alternating current.

    I await others inputs.

    Hi RangerRickMN,

First, I see this is your first post sí working to the forum.

Quick answer to your question is, yes as long as the following are met.

    1. They are both inverter style generator
    2. They are both set up to parallel

With a parallel kit they should sync up and match the voltage.

Both are inverter generators and I have Parallel cables (added picture). So, I think I’m hearing that it doesn’t matter where the red and black are plugged into the SmarterTools unit since it’s AC. Correct?

I don’t think it matters but I am curious of how that cable synchronizes the hot leg sine waves. Looks too simplistic to just hook up hot, return and ground and you have added to your power capacity. But I know very little about paralleling inverter generators.
