Contemplating Purchasing a Reflection 293 RES

Hello Everyone. I just joined this forum because I am considering purchasing a Reflection 293RES. Does anyone have any issues or concerns with this model and product line in general?

You'd better act quick, as the 293's are no longer made. You'll have to get one out of dealer stock. Most buyers bought the 303's.

Thanks Bamaman. I saw one at a dealership but didn't have much info on the model or brand. It definitely seemed like it was better built than other brands I've looked at.

We have had our Reflection 293RES for about a year with only a couple of minor problems that I fixed myself. Only negative was the 15" Westlake tires, which I upgraded to 16" BF Goodrich Commercial TA a few weeks ago...makes a world of difference in towing and peace of mind. We have about 65 nights camping in it and over 7,500 miles on it, so far everything works better than the previous two fivers we had.

Sirsea, thank you for the information. If I purchase one, do you suggest changing the tires before taking a trip?

    Rnonell,
If the unit has 15" tires, you would be well served in upgrading to 16" wheels and tires to gain ride height and load carrying capacity. But in my opinion just condemning the Westlake tires automatically isn't needed. I know not all the GDRV owners are on this site, but my reading has had only one person sat their Westlake tire "blew out", but as of now we don't have any follow-up information whether it truly was a defect or "other cause". We are hoping for an update. Sirsea's input is very valuable because he has experienced two different tires. The towing difference could be both increase in size and switching from a ST tire to LT. That's a whole other subject!

Only if the frame has the 2" square tube spacer between the underside of the frame and the suspension. Otherwise, 16" wheels and tires won't fit.
