    Indoor vs. Outdoor Speaker Volume

Has anyone found a way to calibrate the indoor speaker volume vs the outdoor speaker volume?

In our new Reflection, the head unit needs to be on at least 32-34 to hear the music outside the trailer. If I turn on the indoor speakers as well, they will blast you out of the trailer.

Does anyone know if there is a way to sync the volumes? I'm wondering if the speaker zones were swapped around, if it would be closer to what you'd expect, the indoors to be less loud and the outdoors to be a little higher. I'm not thinking the head unit has higher output on two channels than on the other two but that's sure what it seams.

Unless your head unit has a fader, then no luck. Which one do you have?

Hells, bells,...I never even thought about a "fader". I'll have to look into that. Not sure on the model of the head unit.

If it turns out to just be a fader setting...I'll be in the running for one of the dumbest question of 2022. LMAO

No worries, mine doesn't have a fader, just A and B and they are not the same volume either.

You might try reversing polarity at speakers, sometimes it matters.

The only time speaker polarity would matter is when multiple speakers share the same space, for instance, subwoofers in a 7th order bandpass enclosure where one speaker is pushing and the other is pulling. Polarity on individual wall mounted speakers will not matter.

I'm not an electronics guy specifically but would this be an issue of the speakers or the head unit? If it's a difference in the power from the head unit would switching the wires at the point of connection help?

I agree my setup is way too loud on the inside when the volume is loud enough to hear it outside. I think I will try swapping the input and see if it helps (unless smarter folks tell me that won't help).

I'll try to make some time to play with it this weekend.

My initial thought on this without having looked at any of it in detail yet, is that possibly the indoor speakers and outdoor speakers are different ohm ratings. If the indoor speakers are rated at 8 ohm and the outdoor speakers are rated at 4 ohms, then that could explain the different. If the head unit provides the same power to 4 ohm and 8 ohm speakers, then the 4 ohm speakers should be typically louder. Lower resistance allows more current yada yada.

I will try to mess with it soon and provide what I find in hopes of figuring this out for those with the issue.
