When I installed a SoftStart on my 15K Coleman unit, I tested it with my son's Honda 2000. The A/C started and ran with absolutely nothing else running. I tried it with the lights on and the fridge on and it was a no go. Depending on which A/C unit you have, you may need something bigger.

With a Softstart or EasyAir you should be able to run the A/C with your Yamaha. You may not be able to run much else at the same time. Be sure to turn off the converter/charger (on mine I use the breaker) since the draw to charge your batteries will most certainly be too much. With the C/C off, everything on the 12-volt side will run from the batteries and thus not affect the running of the A/C.

If you don't want to soft start your AC, get another Honda & hook 'em together.
