Folks, we are looking to winter in Corpus Christi area (that general area of Texas as we are flexible) and looking for suggestions on campsites or any ideas. Looking forward to any help that you folks can provide.

We like nearby Port Aransas. Easy access to the beach and Gulf of Mexico. There are numerous discussions on where to stay on this forum.

Mustang Island, Goose Island, reserve now. Limited to two weeks then you have to leave for a day. For the leave day, camp on the beach at Port A. Malaquite, all first come first served, no hookups but have water, dump station and showers. Also limited to two weeks. If you do Texas state parks, get he annual park pass for $70, well worth the $$. Once it gets cold, head down to Falcon state park, can do four weeks at a time there.

We always stay at Pioneer RV Resort in Port Aransas. They have many winter Texans and have many activities at the park, a boardwalk to the beach. Port Aransas, Rockport, Aransas Pass and Corpus Christi have multiple city activities, good restaurants, deep sea and coastal fishing. You can't beat the Corpus Christi T heads during the Christmas season.

Be aware that the Corpus Christi area does get several cold (really cool) fronts over the winter months. It will not be the cold but the wind that will chill your bones and cause a good set of goosebumps.

Good day trip (probably should consider staying overnight) to the San Antonio area (Bandera, Kerrville, Boerne and Fredericksburg). Lots of other little towns around Corpus Christi that have stepped up their game concerning market days and other events.
