Okay, so what if it is making a loud noise for about 1/3 the travel from open to closed, but only on the front side?

Since I'm assuming you're speaking about your new trailer, either talk to the dealer, or talk to Grand Design and see if you can have a mobile technician take a look. Or peel back the seal and see if you can see any issues as it starts closed.

Thanks, but it's not new enough for warranty work, unless the slide warranty is 3 years.
    Bought it on 8/6/2020.
It was looked at for chattering in Feb 2021 and was aligned and lubed under warranty. This noise is different, more like a squeaky sound.
I have conditioned the seals and even used pam on them where the noise seems to be coming from, so I don't think it is the seals...

Well, it may be a consideration that the slide has been checked before under warranty. Sometimes that con act as a help with future problems of the same thing. Sure worth checking into.

The dealer who checked it out back then had to be forced to do so since I didn't buy it from them. Fat chance they will look at it again...especially anytime soon, lol
Anybody else have this kind of noise issue?

I use Camco Seal Conditioner for all seals and wipers and CRC with PTFE for the living room slides (4 or 5 times a year). The bedroom slide is a Schwintek and I do not lubricate it.

For squeaking put some baby powder in a stock and pat it all around the slide seal... You can ignore my question of what kind o of noise.

It is a scratchy, squealy noise, kind of disturbing. The slide is in now, but next time I should record it...
I thought it was rubber on metal due to all the rain we drove thru last time, maybe removing the 'protect all slideout rubber seal treatment' I had applied before the trip. So I sprayed pam on the seal interface while sliding in last time. It helped a little but the noise is still there.

Have you lubed the rollers under the slide? That is where we had some squealing from until I lubed them.
