Small gash on side of 5th

I have a small gash on my 2017 303RLS. It's about inch long and 1/8 inch wide and 1/8 inch deep into the fiberglass. What should I use to fill the gash to keep water out until I can get it fixed properly and painted. Any advice would be helpful.

That small, I would use a small piece of gorilla tape, or some gel superglue.

Any good two-part epoxy will fill the defect. You can then sand it smooth and apply new gel coat or paint when you get around to it. If it's small enough it doesn't bother you, you can consider an epoxy repair permanent.

After epoxy I would consider camouflage with a vinyl decal decoration on each side. If it’s in a location that accents current striping.

RV Body Shops use bondo to repair fiberglass siding. The problem is getting the paint to match. Those that have done a lot of Grand Design repairs will know the paint code to where any auto paint store can match it. You could also remove one of the doors to the garage and take it to an auto paint store for matching.

Be glad your repair is minor. When repairs and painting gets big, the painter must wad up plastic wrap and dab it on the wet paint to get the finish to match up with the rest of the trailer. The fiberglass finish is relatively rough in comparison with spray painting a car.
