Hey, it looks like this is your first post, welcome to the forum. Yes, our furry friends can be good at hiding where it's not easy to get them out. Thanks for posting the picture of your mod, may help someone else. Any ideas about how to keep the kitty from going under the recliner? That's where ours likes to hide, extraction is a major operation.

That space often is an air return for the furnace. If so, pegboard may not provide enough air flow. Some folks have used hardware cloth, instead.

I haven't needed to run my furnace yet so I don't know if it restricting airflow will be an issue.
