We upgraded to a queen, 11”, fairly heavy. The stockers are working fine. 21 MLE.

    Good luck.

We upgraded our mattress also and did not have to replace the struts. I say, give it a shot and go from there.

Our Tuft & Needle queen mattress weighs 72 lbs. Two 120# struts do fine with it.

Are you sure it’s 54 pounds?

Lift Support/Strut for storage below mattress

I have a Layla queen and the struts work perfect for it. We have two nectors queens in the house and they’re not really memory foam mattresses and are super thick would never be able to reach the cubbies on the bedside. Funny story there was a recall on nectar they came out to replace it but he left the old mattress there and then put my sons Layla in camper and keep the other nectar Free!!!

We put a 14" NovaFoam from Costco in ours. The cubbies are still accessible but the gas shocks do not hold up the mattress. Increasing the capacity is on my mod list for this fall. For now, I just use a 2x4.

14" Wow, my DW would need a step ladder to hop into bed. LOL

After some research, the factory struts, if you will, are 40#. The depot recommended 80-90# and I found some locally at an RV parts store. I appreciate everyone's help, thanks.

It is a bit of a step up. Keeps the little dog out of the bed, though.
