Stabilizers

New owner of 28ft Imagine. It uses legacy stabilizers and rig seems extra sensitive when someone is "moving" around - more than our prior 24ft JayFlight. I've ensured stabilizers are tight. Any suggestions or thoughts? Has anyone ever added EXTRA stabilizers?

mine is a 38ft TT and I had similar issues with my electric stabilizers. I bought four cinder blocks and four light weight screw jacks, I place them in front and behind my axels and now a thunderstorm barely move my rig. Also, make sure that the stabilizers are still tight. They can often "unscrew" in a day or so. We purchased some locks that slide over the nut once tight and they keep them from being able to loosen with movement. That has helped us a lot. And all the previous advice also applies...

on my previous Imagine as suggested here,4x4 treated blocks to shorten the reach helped a lot, and I also got the aluminum screw type in a previous post, one in front and 1 behind axel on each side makde mine a lot better. I saw a set of the rechet strap 2x4 homade set on a camper also that the guy said made his rock solid, they were simalar to the high priced ones. Good luck!

Hi Flystar,

If you have the Lippert electric stabilizers (PSX1). E-trailer has an adapter kit that fits on the bottom of each jack to accept the JT Strongarms. Not the Steady Fast though.

A bit late to this post but it seemed a good place to start. Have a 2021 2670mk and the stabilizers that came with dont do much. We cant tell the difference in "wiggle". During our walk through with the dealer we were told not to over extend them or they will bend. Ive invested in xchocks and two additional scissor jacks, (tried separately) for the rear bumper but on the wheels she still moves. I get the on the rubber part. Mostly noticed when sitting on the dinette side as it cantilevers out from the house. Anyone tried slide stabilizers as a means to stop the movement? Ive read good and bad things about this method. Thanks

Try using the scissor jacks on the frame itself instead of the bumper. Keep the extension of the stabilizers as short as you can by using blocks. Some manufacturers recommend against the use of slide stabilizers. There will always be a bit of "wiggle", it affects some people more than others. The use of something like JT Strongarms work about the best to make the trailer/5th wheel the most stable.
