The Mammoth Site - Hot Springs, SD
If you are in the Hot Springs, SD area, consider a stop at the Mammoth Site. An active archeological excavation under an air conditioned bldg with the largest collection of mammoth in North America - over 60 - and a unique story. Very interesting and a nice visit if you are interested in archeology.

From the advertising I thought it would be cheesy and kid oriented.
Then we went anyway and if found real scientists and a unique location. In many ways its similar to Dinosaur National Monument's wall of bones but mammoths and mastodons. If you get any closer to the bones you should be wearing gloves!Rick
