    Free Standing Chair Tie Downs

I didn't care for the black nylon strap tie downs that you had to buckle your free standing chairs to. It looked sloppy. The straps were screwed into the floor and you had no choice but to leave them there when you were camping. I decided to unscrew the straps and replace them with "D" Rings and Bungee Cords. I found the "D" Rings at Home Depot, purchased a 10 foot length of 3/8" Bungee Cord, and a package of Bungee Hook ends at a local hardware store. After screwing the "D" Rings in place I custom sized the Bungee Cords and the job was done. No more loose black nylon straps laying on the floor. Securing the chairs for travel is a breeze.Click image for larger version.

Haven't used the straps on my 303RLS yet, chairs don't move when towing. Didn't do it either in previous trailer I towed for 10 years. Actually, now that I think back, that trailer had no tiedown straps to hold chairs in place. They don't move on the carpet.

Great idea for those that are having an issue with the chairs moving around. Clean and simple approach. Personally, I don't tie ours down and I haven't had any problems in over 2 1/2 years and 16000 miles of dragging our Solitude around.

The first thing I did, when I got home, was remove those ugly straps. I did not have them in my last two fifth wheels, so I do not know why I would need them now? My chairs have never moved. In the 369RL, there is not really anywhere they could actually go. They are trapped by surrounding structures or furniture, when the slide is closed.

we don't tie ours down either the tech that did our walkthrough said they come delivered from Grand Design not tied down so he didn't think there would be a need for them

We removed the factory tie downs too but we do wrap one of the straps around the leg of each chair (we only carry 2 chairs) and around the table pedestal although we probably don't even need that.
