Deadwood SD Area
How many days would you recommend for a stay in the Deadwood SD area? Would like to see Rushmore, Devils Tower, Spearfish. Any other attractions I have missed? Any help would be appreciated.

Custer State Park wildlife loop, Iron Mountain Road, Needles Highway, Crazy Horse Monument, Jewel Cave, There is a mining museum in Lead that sits on the edge of an abandoned pit mine, west of Lead on Nevada Gulch Road is an active pit mine that even has a parking area and an observation stand where you can see some mining going on with the big rock hauler trucks.
You could easily spen a week in the area.

The 1880 train from Hill city to Keystone or vice versa. We took it this year and it was a nice chug through the hills. We also like to drive through the state park by Custer. There is plenty to do sight seeing there, Custer Crazy horse also Bear Country USA. We have only done short stays but if it were me I would do a 4-5 day stay around there. My buddy owns Custer Crazy Horse campground, that was the only RV place we have stayed. Other than that we stay in hotels in Custer or Deadwood. Keep us posted on your travels.

Perfect timing - thank you. We're back in Hill City and Custer for 8 nights Monday. We did the wildlife loop while staying in Hot Springs. Hard to describe being surrounded by a huge Bison heard just feet from the truck. Rushmore night show, Needles Hwy, Iron Mountain, Jewel Cave, 1880 train are on our bucket list before heading back east. Devils Tower is great.
