2022 Imagine 22MLE XLS Dometic WH-6GEA 6-Gal Water Heater Cap Size

I only need an answer from an owner of the same Model Trailer please.

I have been through this Forum and I’m trying to get the right answer. No, I am not a Mathematician, so I suck at measuring. I am trying to find out the drain thread size that sticks out of the 2022 Dometic WH-6GEA 6-Gallon Water Heater. I couldn’t find anything on Dometic’s website, and the Forum is full of different sizes, so I am confused at which one. I wanted to head over to Home Depot today to go checkout some Brass fittings and a Ball Valve, but it may not happen until I receive a correct response.

The most important fact for me is the size to screw on the drain threads exiting the Water Heater where normally you replace a “Cap”.

We don't have the same trailer as we have a '21 22RBE, but we have the same water heater.
I put a connector to an elbow, then through a valve so I can drain the tank easier. I bought the parts at Home Depot, I drained the water heater and took the existing cap with me to find a replacement.

I am away from the RV this week in Telluride. When I get back I can slip the socket on it.

It appears this is what I may have to do. I didn’t know it would be so frustrating to just get a confirmation on the Cap size. LOL!

I see Pex tubing, so that is good it won’t rupture in the Winter.

That picture shows 1/2" PEX, which would make the fitting on the water heater 1/2" male. The cap or fitting that screws onto the fitting would be 1/2" female (I think the PEX fitting will say FNPT or F NPSM).

I took my drain cap to Home Depot, and it is definitely 1/2” ID.
