This type vacuum breaker should seal with very little pressure. Even then it’s normal to get a few drops of water out of it. The higher the pressure it takes to seal, the more water will escape, to the point of squirting out.

@SMellard -
Welcome to the forum. Here are a few forum tips:
1) If you use "Reply With Quote" (to the right of "Reply") as I have here, folks will know to whom you are responding and that person will get a notification.
2) You can also tag folks using the "@" symbol and their user name (as I have done yours) - they'll also get a notification that way.
3) If you choose to get a paid membership (nominal cost and well worth it), you can create a signature block with your RV and tow vehicle information (see mine below). That way you won't have to repeat that information whenever you post or ask a question - and others won't have to ask. You can create a signature by going to:
Forum Actions (on menu bar) -> Edit Profile -> Edit Signature (under My Settings on the left)

Black Tank Flush
Florida2022 - The tech is correct, all trailers that have a plumbed black tank flush have some sort of check valve, either at the tank or eleveated above the tank and black tank flush hookup depending on type of valve. My personal expeirience in my years caming is that I have NEVER had seweage back up to the valve or past it.
What does amaze me is what people do with the hoses they connect to the dump site water spicket. Hoses in toilets, hoses in sewage hoses, dropped on the ground, and all sorts of crazy unsaitary activity. Therfore the safest course of action is to set the expecation to have a seperate and distint fresh and flush hoses to eliminate potential contamination.
