    Wild Turkeys

Not something you see everyday roaming through a campground especially so close to a populated area in Richmond Indiana close to Interstate 70. A lot of wild animals have disappeared from populated areas, you don't see them very often unless deep in the woods. You'll always see Racoons, Opossums and such, but not many wild turkeys. Even foxes have disappeared pretty much around here.

Or sometimes....even bigger animals. This was taken from our campsite in 2018 at Grayson Highlands state park where we camped while bicycle riding the famous Virginia Creeper...

They are fun to watch. We have a group of 23 (4 adults raising their broods) that make their rounds nearly every day at our house. It's especially neat to see how the deer and turkey hang out together; I'm guessing because turkey have great eyesight and deer have great hearing it's mutually beneficial.

We saw a flock of those in Colorado. Wife never saw a wild turkey and didn’t know what they were. Had to stop and show her a Tom with a beard.

    Nice pic Steve.

Wild turkeys are everywhere in Minnesota. Ten years ago we never saw them. Five years ago they were seen frequently in the rural areas. Today they are in the cities. They are sometimes aggressive. They are becoming a nuisance just like geese.

Sounds like a great place to go Turkey hunting when in season.

One morning just south of St Paul in a campground named Lebanon Hills. Sitting there reading the news enjoying a coffee. Unbeknownst to me, a turkey had walked out of the brush and up behind me. About 5 feet away. Then he started making all sorts of noise. Tablet in the air, coffee on the ground, and a change of clothing required..lol

    Nice!
How long would it take to drive from Saskatoon to Waskesiu?
