New Members Ken and Carol Ann

We recently purchased a slightly used 2022 Solitude 345GK-R and used this forum to help make the decision to go with Grand Design. We have been RVing for over 20 years and this is our 3rd 5th Wheel. We do not do much if any boondocking and have a lot we own up in the Mountains of Georgia. We enjoy camping at all types of campgrounds and is the reason we stayed with a sub 40' unit. The last 9 years was in a 2013 340RK Columbus and it was hard to sell it with all the internal space and lightweight construction. Our Tow Vehicle is a 2016 Denali HD 3500 SW. I know a dually would be preferred but we only tow a few times per year so when we tow we will remove some of the things in the unit into storage to keep the pin weight within the limits of the SW 3500. The first tow of the 345GK-R was from Ohio to north GA with more than 6 hours on the road. I can say the Grand Design goes down the road very smooth and stable even in high winds and rain that we experienced on this first tow.

We look forward to visiting with owners on this site to help with mods, repairs and fun times.

Welcome aboard Ken, glad to have you and Carol as part of this forum. It sounds like you already know what a great resource this forum is, one of the best places to find out more about your GD coach. Happy camping!
