I found that Desolvit, or Orange Clean, rubbing alcohol, a plastic putty knife, and a little elbow grease, removed all the silicone caulking that Grand Design used (unless it's not silicone) on my 2021 320MKS.

If is not silicone, then I was lucky?

Caulking around openings in exterior unnecessary?

I used Geocel 2300 Tripolymer sealant (opaque). Not silicone and works great.

I discovered Flowable silicone clear windshield and glass sealer a couple of years ago. The stuff is amazing. In places where I applied it on our trailer a year ago is still there. Flexible to a point and does not discolor. One does have to be careful to not apply too much because it will run down but even that it easily removed with a thumbnail or something once it cures some. Sold at auto parts stores. It does not store well once opened and exposed to air though. I just recently used it on all the window and door factory sealant and used my finger to get a good covering and along the area of the roof where the membrane is sealed to the gutter in places that was starting to separate a little. I like that it will flow down INTO the small gaps and seals from inside and out. Worth the 7 bucks or so for the small tube.

So what should you use around lights, cameras etc. that are mounted to the gel coat. Can't always know if it's silicone underneath or not, and some suggest to stay away for silicone. I'm confused

An older thread here, as mentioned earlier I’m in the camp of Geocell. This is an excellent product for sealing around windows doors and exterior wall (not roof) attachments. Keep the bead around an “1/8 and it stays where you put it with just enough stretch to flow into gaps.

Geocel lists several others as well, some specifically for RVs like "Geocel GC28100 Pro Flex RV Flexible Sealant", have you had any experience with it? Just branded differently?

Sorry I have no experience with the other Geocel product. It was a one time seal where a screw backed out and broke the sealant on the rubber trim seal.
