Electric Brakes
Hi I have 7K Dexter axles on my 2021 310GK-R. I decided to just give a couple of shots of grease on each hub just before a trip. When I went to spin 1 wheel it was frozen (very hard to turn) it seems that the brake was over adjusted. In order to get the drum off I had to back off the adjustment quite a bit. It looks like the shoes are paper thin. The bearings and everything else are in perfect shape. I am looking online and the price of the Dexter 023-465-00 assy. is quite expensive, over $300 per axle. Looking on Amazon there seems to be a lot cheaper alternatives including Lippert, witch is about 1/2 the price of Dexter.
Has anyone tried any of these less expensive alternatives?Mal & Helen

Why not just replace the brake shoes instead of the entire assembly?

Don't let the thickness of the shoes deceive you, trailer brakes start out much thinner than automotive brake shoes. Actually measure it and make sure it's below minimum.

Check eTrailer to find the correct parts, new shoes will definitely not cost as much as a full assembly. https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories...le/DX28FR.html
