    Broken window

Upon arriving to our weekly campsite we found the rear window broken. Can just the broken side be replaced or does the entire frame have to come out? 2020 Solitude 310GK emergency exit side.

You'll have to call GD to find out for sure, I think. I've never heard of just one component of those windows being replaced - always the whole window... but I could be wrong.

BTW - you can create a signature block with your RV and tow vehicle information (see mine below). That way you won't have to repeat that information whenever you post or ask a question - and others won't have to ask. You can create a signature by going to:

Forum Actions (on menu bar) -> Edit Profile -> Edit Signature (under My Settings on the left)

Unfortunately I have some recent experience with broken windows. Finding a replacement in stock will be a problem, could happen, probably not. Call GD customer support with your VIN, they will look up the part number, it's even possible they will even have a replacement window, mine was out of production.

So with the GD part number I called LCI, who special ordered my replacement window from the original manufacturer who had to build the window then ship it to me. Took about 4 months. My windows are double pane, took out the outside window, it was summer, so still usable.

A freind of mine was traveling with his Solitude, got side swipped by a semi hauling hay, took half his window out. We went down the hardware store got some really long bolts, some 3/4" plywood, and a couple of 2x4's. We put cut the plywood down to just fit over the edges of the window then put the 2x4's on the inside, cut to good length, then ran the bolts through them and cinched it down tight with some thick insulation seals around the edge. It took him 6 months to get his window fixed.

In both our cases full window replacement was necessary. I ended up installing my window myself as I could not find anyone available to work on it.

Just replaced an operable window on my Imagine. Grand Design customer service/ Jenn blew me away. Had 22 windows in stock!! The price $380 which 49 x 30. Ok now I thought freight will be a killer. No the price quoted included shipping. Jenn got this unit out and it traveled from Indiana to near Reno Nevada in 5 days. Have had a number of RV’s but grand design customer service is and was the bomb

I had a similar experience. I had to replace one of the garage windows on my 349M (43x31) and Grand Design had the window in stock. The window unit was $345 and shipping was $118.

I replaced it myself, which was quite easy. I used some 1/8"x3/8" outdoor foam tape to seal it to the outside wall (available at probably any hardware store).
