Look at buying TRANSCEND XPLOR 245RL
Well I hope you are all doing well and safe travels.
My wife and I are looking at the 2022 GRAND DESIGN RV TRANSCEND XPLOR 245RL,
We looked at it a couple times and had some concerns and questions.
Does the unit need the second AC unit ?
we had some concerns over the wallpaper doors considering we noticed some peeling on the units we looked at.
Is Their anything else we should get or be concerned about.
Any comments are appreciated
Thanks

Never looked underneath a Transcend, not sure if they have an enclosed underbelly which really only makes a difference in cold weather camping. Guess it really depends how you plan to use the trailer.

Not sure what you mean on the peeling, but definitely don’t accept it that way! We have owned an Imagine XLS and now Transcend and found the interior fittings to be extremely similar.
Belly is enclosed, but dump valves are external vice internal. In extremely cold camping that would matter. It’s a wood vice aluminum framed trailer, but very nice siding vs most wood trailers. Well insulated for a trailer IMO.
I can’t tell you whether or not you should get the second AC, but I can tell you our 240ml does not need it. We have been in full sun, humid Florida at 95+ and it always kept up. It will take a few hours to cool things off if you travel in the heat.
A consideration on the second AC is what it detracts from cargo capacity. These transcends don’t have a ton to begin with. If you travel heavy (fill up the available storage, or plan to travel with water), you’re going to run out of capacity even without the second AC. I know we are right at our capacity but also loaded for full-time. That’s my biggest thing - this trailer with 4400# axles and an 8995 GVW would be perfect - same load on my truck as now, but with no capacity concerns.

Is 50A service or a second AC even available as an option on a 245?

Ours is a bit longer and we have had some high humidity, high heat days this year and it works fine. Some of the things we do to keep it cooler in there is close the blinds and plug up the sky lights. It is amazing how much heat comes through those.

Lived in our 2021 245RL for two years in Fort Lauderdale. Parked in a parking lot with no shade. A/C work great. I did keep the shades closed all the time.
