Towing 2000 Jeep Wrangler TjJ
I have a 2016 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS.
Can I tow my 2000 Jeep Wrangler (3000 lbs) with the factory hitch on rear of it?

Is it legal where you live?
Most states won't let you flat tow a motor vehicle behind a towable.
The hitch is rated at 3000#'s.
I assume you do not have any wiring at the rear of your 2016 Reflection either, which you would need.
More recent years do have flat 4 wires.Steve- Inventory Manager at Tom Schaeffer's RV, Shoemakersville, PA www.tomschaeffers.com

Due to the frame rail size on the Reflections, I would not try that myself. Personally, I wouldn't double tow a full-size vehicle with a fifth wheel unless the fifth wheel frame were heavy/strong enough and I had a class V truck - but that's just me.

I'll second @Second Chance's comment. I wouldn't double tow a full size vehicle behind a Reflection.

I have a 303 as well and know that the tongue weight is 300 pounds max and I pull a 16' bowrider boat with it. I'm probably less than 2000 pounds..probably 16-1800 pounds?... with the boat and trailer and it has been fine. Pretty sure you will find your TJ is about 3600-3800 pounds. I have a 2003 TJ Sport 4.0L and it is well over 3000. 2.4L would be a little less.
As others have said...I'm not too sure the frame of the Reflection would handle a vehicle. Four wheels on the ground would have different forces than the two wheels of our boat trailerLast edited by Scott'n'Wendy; 10-14-2022 at 03:54 PM.
