    Air conditioner covers

Looking for feedback on putting AC covers on in winter. Getting mixed input. Some say NO- causes ‘condensation underneath’ and that dealers don’t cover theirs over winter months… others say YES to protect from snow and ice damage.

    Thanks for feedback

I do but only because we always get 1 week in January of really mild weather which thaws some snow and bring freezing rain. I figured it would help prevent some wet stuff from getting in and freezing again.

I dont cover my RV AC's, but I do my stick builts in order to keep out debris during heavy fall foliage due to being close to the ground. I also dont store (when not used) my RV under trees either, which then I might consider covering them.

I think it depends where it is parked. Not a bad place sea to cover to keep out debris and potential wetness from snow, or ice damimg. I have never covered, but live in an area with not too much precipitation and my rig is covered when home. I don’t think an ac or overall cover is a bad thing.

Lots of trees around here already shedding but hope most of that will be down by Nov when we get back from last trip, winterize, and anything already on the roof blown off in 1800 miles. Also, with the wind we get, doubt any cover or any kind would stay on - nailed every cold front that neighbors north of the border send our way I am on the fence with tire covers though since RV is parked East-West and there is very little sun exposure - more to keep snow/ice out.

Our previous trailer sat out uncovered when not in use, and after 10 years, the AC covers were still fine. I would say totally your preference, but IMO unnecessary.
