Interesting to note that Pilot has it's own DEF plants and according to their CEO produces about 30% of U.S. DEF. There was concern in April when Union Pacific requested Pilot reduce their DEF rail tonnage by 50% (due to a reduction in rail traffic, crew/maintenance shortages) but I don't believe that ever happened.

We did a 4 month, 47 stop trip this summer covering more than 10,000 miles. I only saw DEF at the pump in two places where I got diesel.

You will only find it at truck stops in the truck lanes, not on the four wheeler side.

You have to go to the truck islands at truck stops; and probably national brand truck stops. I find them all over the country.

I always fill up at the truck lanes to use my EFS card even if I am not towing.

I guess that's why then. In my daily driving, there are none near me. I'd have to drive almost an hour to get to one.
On our trip we did a lot of non expressway driving.

Lots of times I find that non-truck stops have cheaper fuel. I like being able to unhook and go a few miles for a good buy. But, yes, most of them don't have the DEF pumps. Since I don't get DEF a lot (in most cases) I usually wait to fill up when I do stop at a truck stop. Actually, when not traveling a lot I never fill my DEF tank and will put in a few gallons when it gets low; I like to think that keeps it more fresh than sitting in the tank for a long time.

I used a total of 6 2 1/2 gallon jugs of DEF on our summer trip. It was easy and convenient to pick up a jug at a Walmart when we did our grocery shopping.
